POLICE: BEWARE OF SCAM

Losers tried to scam an East Pikeland Township woman on Jan. 9, and police are alerting residents about the scheme.
The woman received a letter with a check in the amount of $3,580 from a company called Aetna Marketing Research, police said.
She was instructed to become a “mystery shopper” and spend $200 in selected retail stores and send $3,000 by Western Union or Moneygram back to them, police said.
She was expected to fill out an evaluation sheet for her shopping experience, police said.
The check was deposited into her bank account, but a few days later, the woman received a call from her bank saying the check was counterfeit, police said.

Thugs use Devon resident’s card
Jerks made fraudulent purchases on a Devon resident’s credit card recently, police said.

Bozos break into club’s barn, steal tools
Thugs busted into a barn and stole maintenance tools at Glen Hardie Country Club in Wayne on Jan. 5, police said.
The stolen items included a Craftsman Air Compressor, a Red Max backpack leaf blower and Red Max line trimmer, police said.

Police: Worker stole items from Kmart
An Kmart employee removed items — including a TV and camera — from the store without permission, police said.
James Egan, 47, of Wayne, was arrested after the incident on the 700 block of West Lancaster Avenue in Wayne, police said.

Creepy losers swipe credit cards
Jerks stole two credit cards from a Berwyn resident and made unlawful purchases recently, police said.

Losers steal rental car
Thugs stole a rental car that was parked in a driveway on Hunters Lane in Devon on Jan. 5, police said.

Burglars steal computer from bedroom
Creepy burglars grabbed a laptop computer from the bedroom of a residence on Minor Avenue in Paoli on Jan. 6, police said.
The front door was unlocked, and a window was discovered open, police said.

Police: Suspect left threatening message
A Wayne resident received a threatening voicemail message recently, police said.

Bozos busted two basement windows of a residence on the 1500 block of Valley Greene Road in Paoli on Jan. 7, police said.

A creep stole several items from a business on the 500 block of South Union Street in Kennett Square on Jan. 6, police said.
